The release of Britney Spears’ upcoming memoir The Woman In Me has been delayed by four months after avoiding a lawsuit over the singer’s claims about her former romances with Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell.
Sources told The Sun on Monday that claims made in the book about both the Grammy-winning pop star, 41, Timberlake, 42, and Pharrell, 47, have raised legal concerns from lawyers representing both men.
Attorneys for both men said they would sue Spears if portions of the book were not removed before publication, sources told the outlet.
An insider told the outlet, ‘Lawyers demanded to see his book in advance and were adamant that certain revelations were deleted. ‘There are still plenty of gobsmacking stories but Justin and Colin were aware of what could be said about them.’
But a source denied the claims to Newstimesuk.com – and said ‘there are no legal threats from Justin or Colin.’
The Oops!…I Did It Again artist was linked to Timberlake from 1999 to 2002 and was photographed with Pharrell in 2003 amid rumors of a romance. According to reports, Pharrell denied that they were dating.

‘But that’s settled now and his autobiography is all set.’
A separate insider told the publication that the book, which will arrive on October 24, will present a ‘bright and heartwarming’ account of the Grammy winner’s life after years of making headlines amid personal turmoil and family problems.
‘It gave Britney a chance to tell her own story,’ the insider said, ‘which certainly wasn’t easy but which will be incredibly enlightening for her fans.’
The book will also detail Spears, a longtime conservator under controlling father Jamie Spears from 2008 to 2021.
The book’s publisher, Gallery Books, summarizes it as ‘a bold and surprisingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope’.
Spears announced she was writing a book in an Instagram post in February 2022.
‘Well I’m writing a book at the moment and it’s actually healing and therapeutic… It’s hard to even bring up past events in my life… I’ve never been able to open up!!!’ she said.

The Toxic artist addressed fans via social media this past May regarding the status of the upcoming tome, as well as the delay.
‘I almost think my life in business has always been that girl at school who got teased and laughed at!!!’ she said. ‘But there is no superior to straighten it out in my case!!!’
He continued: ‘I think some people want to hear my story…either through books or what have you??? I had to stop several times!!! It may take me a year, maybe longer… to share my story!!!’
