Yesim Demir was on holiday with her boyfriend Nizametin Gursu at Polente Cape in the northwestern Turkish town of Canakkale in the Marmara region, when the tragic accident happened.
He simply proposed to her and they went up the hill to celebrate a picnic while watching the sunset.
Gursu then reportedly went to get the picnic items from the car, but suddenly heard a scream.
She rushes off, only to find her new fiance has tumbled off the cliff.

A devastated Gursu told local media: ‘We chose the hills to have romantic memories after the proposal. We drank some wine. Everything happened at once. He lost his balance and fell down.’

Authorities immediately sealed off the area and launched an investigation, allowing access to the mountain only in a ‘controlled manner’ from July 15. This means no pedestrians or vehicles are allowed in the area for 15-20 minutes after sunset, according to the report.
Gursu previously said that he wanted to propose to Demir at sunset and therefore chose the mountain for the romantic moment.
Authorities immediately closed the area and launched an investigation, re-entering the mountain only in a ‘controlled manner’ from 15 July.
This means no pedestrians or vehicles are allowed in the area for 15-20 minutes after sunset, according to the report.
A grieving friend of Demir told local media: ‘It’s a place where everyone comes and watches the sunset.
‘But the roads are very bad and there is no warning on the hillsides. Fences should be drawn here, precautions should be taken.’
