A private plane carrying three passengers has crashed through the roof of a Texas home, sending all passengers to the hospital

A private plane with the pilot and two passengers on board crashed into the roof of a home in Georgetown, Texas shortly before noon Sunday. The aircraft, a single-engine Beech BE35 aircraft, was attempting to land near Georgetown Executive Airport, the pilot and passengers miraculously survived with injuries that are not believed to be intact.

The pilot of a private plane carrying two passengers crashed into the roof of a home in Georgetown, Texas, north of Austin, on Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before noon near the Georgetown Executive Airport when the plane was coming in to land.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will lead an investigation into how the plane, a single-engine Beech BE35, crashed.

Incredibly, the people on board, a man and two women, survived the collision which was not considered life-threatening.

Three people were taken to hospital but were treated and released later in the day.

The plane crash happened just before noon in the 500 block of Northwood Drive near Georgetown Executive Airport, the Georgetown Fire Department said.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed it was a single-engine Beech BE35 plane and the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into the accident.

In another piece of sheer luck, the house the plane plowed into was completely empty.

Dylan King, a nearby resident who rushed to the scene, told KXAN, ‘They were in really good shape considering what happened.’

‘They were scared, they didn’t know what was going on. They looked really confused. We helped them down from the balcony and they were trying to jump through a hole in the roof. We opened the roof ladder and they went down that way.’

The plane had taken off from Kerrville and was nearing the end of its 120-mile journey and about to land in Georgetown when the plane suddenly lost altitude and crashed into the roof of a house.

The aircraft, a single engine Beech BE35 aircraft, was attempting to land near Georgetown Executive Airport.

The pilot and passengers miraculously survived with injuries that were not considered life-threatening

Dylan King, a nearby resident who rushed to the scene, told KXAN, ‘They were in really good shape considering what happened.’

Wreckage from the plane could still be seen stuck to the top of the house on Sunday night.

The Georgetown Fire Department said it plans to return to the scene Monday, along with FAA and NTSB representatives, to further assess the damage and work on evacuating the plane.

The FAA is also expected to release a preliminary crash report on their website within 24 hours.
