Passengers scold airline passengers for their biggest pet peeve: ‘Since when did this etiquette end?’
Social media users are shaming people who are guilty of their ‘biggest pet peeve’ while travelling.
According to a collection of videos on TikTok, it’s their failure to get off the plane in a row and immediately running towards the plane’s exit instead of waiting their turn.
Among the videos showing the behavior that went viral was Boston-based content creator Mikayla, who goes by the username @mickeyyyt.
The short clip shows Mikayla still sitting in her row next to her friend after the plane lands.
He pans the camera around to show a line of people standing in the aisle, locking them in their seats.
According to the TikTok creator known as @mickeyyyt (pictured), many people don’t follow the etiquette of getting off a plane.
This line extends behind their rows and seems to extend all the way back to the plane.
Mikayla looks frustrated as she points the camera at herself, her friend shakes her head in frustration as the camera pans to her.
Finally, the camera pans back to Mikael, who is shaking his own head, and is stuck in his seat for the long line of people lined up in the middle of the plane.
Throughout the footage in the short video, the words are superimposed on the screen, which reads: ‘Since when did getting off the plane queues end!?!?!’
In a simple caption accompanying the short clip, he added: ‘Aren’t we all going to the same place?!?!’
The video has garnered a staggering 2.4 million views, suggesting that the topic has struck a chord with many TikTok users.
Some shared their thoughts on the matter, with the clip drawing a remarkable 6,547 comments, with one describing the behavior in the video as their ‘biggest pet peeve’.
Another wrote: ‘I’ll get off when it’s my turn! I will go before them.’
During the clip, the creator pans the camera to show people queuing to get on the plane, instead of waiting to get off the plane.
And a third added: ‘Seriously. They stand there for 10 minutes. At this point, I just sit until they’re all out so I don’t have to fight people.’
However, not everyone agreed, with some flyers saying they had never seen people get off in a row.
One explained: ‘I’ve never once seen the plane line up.’
Meanwhile, another was surprised by the expectation that passengers would move according to where they sat.
Explained: ‘I’ve never seen it go row after row. It is not row by row board. So idk why people expect this. Either push your way or wait patiently.’
