Novak Djokovic gets away from it all on a family holiday in Croatia after his crushing Wimbledon final loss

Novak Djokovic has been spotted on a family holiday in Croatia less than a week after his devastating loss in the Wimbledon final.

The tennis pro – who has won 23 Grand Slams throughout his career – was spotted on his boat, walking around in shorts and a simple white tee.

The star player from Serbia had his yacht, possibly named after his daughter, moored in front of Dubrovnik’s Copacabana beach.

His journey began almost a week after the 16-year-old junior lost to Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz on Center Court.

It saw Djokovic fly into a rage and smash his tennis racket in frustration against a net post – a stunt that earned him a £6,117 fine. The figure was deducted from his runner-up check of £1.175m.

Novak Djokovic has been spotted on a family holiday in Croatia less than a week after his devastating loss in the Wimbledon final.

His yacht, named Tara, possibly after his daughter, is seen anchored off Dubrovnik’s Cocacabana beach.

The tennis pro – who has won 23 Grand Slams throughout his career – was seen riding his boat, walking around in shorts and a simple white tee.

Djokovic lost more that day than in the final. He missed out on equaling Roger Federer’s record eight Wimbledon men’s singles titles and drawing level with Margaret Court’s record 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

The Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open in the same year saw him bid farewell to the prospect of becoming the first man in over 50 years to complete the calendar Slam. This opportunity is unlikely to pass him by again.

And now that Alcaraz has aged, Djokovic may find the possibility of adding more Grand Slams to his collection.

The 20-year-old world number one took full advantage to win 1-6 7-6 (6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 after four hours and 42 minutes.

For a long time, the player was one who defied time, but as the match went into the fifth set, many said he was starting to look old.

He stopped running for some of Alcaraz’s shots and appeared to stretch his pain.

Center Court could witness Alcaraz replacing Djokovic at the top of the men’s game

He had tied 15 in a row before Sunday’s game and was hoping to gain another.

The last time he lost on Center Court was in the 2013 Wimbledon final when Murray was at the other end of the net – considered a blip for Djokovic.

To escape his plight, however, the tennis star is hitching a ride on the Adriatic coast with his wife and two children, a son and a daughter.

Local newspapers reported that he first stayed in Montenegro before heading west towards Croatia.

This is not the first time that the athlete has been fascinated by water. He is one of the celebrities known to be a regular on the Croatian coast, for work and pleasure.

After her Wimbledon win last year that saw her hailed as the ‘greatest tennis player of all time’, she too headed to Dubrovnik with her brother, happily posing for pictures with eager fans.
