The British Embassy hosted a party to celebrate the Barbie movie on Tuesday with Mr and Mrs Gaetz decked out in pink to attend the reception and Premier Ginger Gaetz told fans to stick to the dress inspiration and skip the theatre.
Rep. Matt Getz’s wife donned the doll in pink for a cocktail party to celebrate the launch of the Barbie movie on Monday evening, before giving a dry review, advising those who grew up with the toy to steer clear.

Her husband even got in the spirit with a pink sports coat.
But he later said he was disappointed by the film’s values and slammed star Ryan Gosling’s ‘beta energy’.
She wrote in a tweet, ‘The Barbie I grew up with represents infinite possibilities, embracing diverse careers and empowering women.

‘The 2023 Barbie movie, unfortunately, disregards any concept of faith or family and attempts to normalize the idea that men and women cannot (are) positively cooperating.’
The movie had a general release over the weekend. But attendees, who included members of the Washington Spirit women’s basketball team and politicians, got an early look Monday, as well as a chance to hear from director Greta Gerwig, who was present for a Q&A session.
The movie was made in the UK and stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
British officials see it as an opportunity to cash in on an iconic American toy, highlighting the strength of the UK film industry.
British Ambassador Dame Karen Pearce tweeted, ‘UK Warner Bros’ largest base outside the US and Barbie was initially filmed in the UK.
‘An excellent example of UK-US relations at work in the film industry!’
As a result, the ambassador’s residence, resembling an English country house designed by Sir William Lutyens, was transformed into the Barbies dream home.

Later the guests went to see the film at a movie theater in Georgetown.
But the movie about such a beloved aspiring toy is not without controversy.
Republicans are outraged that a crayon map in the film features the ‘nine-dash line’, which Chinese authorities use to show their claims to more than 90 percent of the South China Sea.
It has angered the likes of Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Mike Gallagher who have accused Hollywood of buying into Chinese Communist Party propaganda.
Ginger Getz had other concerns. On the negative, he said: ‘The unfortunate portrayal of big dreams causes anxiety rather than inspiration; Disappointingly low T from Ken; Fair treatment of pregnant Barbie Miz.
‘I really wanted to enjoy it, but ended up being disappointed.’
But Republicans are outraged that the movie depicts the ‘nine-dash line’ that China uses to claim territory in the South China Sea.
He also criticized Gosling in a follow-up tweet.
‘He’s got big beta energy in it,’ she said.
But he had praise for Robi’s acting, costume design and soundtrack.
The movie has been praised by critics for avoiding what could have been a cynical marketing cash grab.
Critic Robbie Collin in the UK’s Daily Telegraph wrote, ‘In fact it is deeply eccentric, conceptually slippery and often roar-out-loud funny.’
