Bob Dylan is selling his stunning 11-bedroom Scottish Highlands estate for $4 million

Folk legend Bon Dylan has put his Scottish Highlands retreat up for sale for $4 million.

The singer bought the 16-bedroom mansion with his brother for $2.9 million in 2006 and is said to have used it for several weeks of the year since then.

The musician, now 82, has finally decided to part with the 25-acre estate, complete with woodland, a garden, a walled garden, a fountain and a croquet lawn.

Altmore House is located within Scotland’s beautiful Cairngorm National Park and has stunning views across Abernethy Forest and the Cairngorm Mountains.

The listing comes as Dylan, born Robert Zimmerman, is coming to the end of his Rough and Rowdy Ways world tour, set to end in 2024.

Aultmore House was commissioned by Aberdonian industrialist, Archibald Merrilees, to designs by the well-known Edwardian architect CHB Quennell.

The Altmore has 11 bathrooms, a billiard room, multiple open marble fireplaces, two kitchens, a butler’s pantry and a guest or staff wing.

The three-storey property, completed between 1911 and 1915, is accessed via a long elegant driveway with a smart turning circle at the front of the house.

The house retains many features from the original owners including detailed plasterwork on ceilings, archways and wooden floors.

The estate was once commandeered as a convalescent home during World War II, as well as several other detached properties, including a Victorian greenhouse.

According to Knight Frank, in 2007/08 Dylan significantly updated the wiring, heating and hot water systems.

The picturesque Highland village of Nethy Bridge is just 1.5 miles away with a butcher shop, primary school and 9-hole golf course.

The property is just 40 miles from Gordonstoun, where King Charles attended school.
