George St, Sydney: Dramatic NSW Police make arrests near Dymocks Building

A group of youths have been dramatically arrested in the heart of Sydney’s CBD after leading police on a chase through the city.

Officers rushed to the Dymocks building in George Street at around 2.20pm on Tuesday after receiving reports that a group of youths had threatened a customer at knifepoint.

Police chased the group after fleeing the scene heading south on George Street.

Officers arrested around six people – including two men, two women, two – at Town Hall Station at around 2.30pm later.

“This is not a typical shoplifting situation,” an official told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday.

Three teenagers were seen sitting in handcuffs outside Town Hall station opposite Woolworths.

The rest of the team were robbed and body searched outside the Vodafone and Share stores in the Queen Victoria Building.
