Adelaide man charged with manslaughter after alleged shooting during four-hour siege in Campbelltown



The man at the center of the four-hour siege has been charged with manslaughter after the woman died and another man was taken to hospital

A 51-year-old man will face court on charges of murder and attempted murder following the death of a woman in a siege in suburban Adelaide.

Another 22-year-old woman was seriously injured in an alleged shooting after a standoff with police in Campbelltown on Saturday.

Police believe the woman is related to the man.

The neighborhood was locked down shortly after 1.30pm as heavily armed tactical officers were deployed to bring the incident under control.

A 51-year-old man is to face court on charges of murder and attempted murder following the death of a woman in a siege in suburban Adelaide.

Police responded to reports of shots fired and found two women collapsed in the driveway of a home.

The injured woman remains in a stable condition at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

After a lengthy negotiation, the man was arrested and later charged with murder and attempted murder.

There was no application for bail and he will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

“When patrols arrived, they found a woman dead and a 22-year-old woman with serious injuries at the scene,” South Australia Police said in a statement.

The injured woman was safely extricated and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

‘Patrols set up cordons around the house and surrounding streets while Star Group officers responded to reports of an armed man inside the house.
