A truck has wreaked havoc on the streets of suburban Sydney, smashing cars and houses in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to Gilchrist Drive in Campbelltown about 5am on Saturday to find an abandoned eight-wheel flatbed truck, attached crane, several wrecked cars, uprooted trees and debris from the remains of the front fence of a nearby property.

NSW Police say the truck is believed to be stolen and the driver fled the scene when they arrived.

No injuries were reported.

The impact seemed to knock the brick wall into the house’s mailbox.

A NSW Police spokesman said: ‘A crime scene has been established and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.’

Emergency crews are on scene to deal with the damage.
