The ex-boyfriend of socialite Holly Nasser – whose 2021 divorce became a cause celebre in Sydney’s eastern suburbs – has had a challenging few months after getting involved in a sunset brawl at a glamorous Rose Bay bar.
James Hodgman began dating Ms Nasser after the death of her one-time best friend Eli Aitken’s ex-husband – the investor Charlie Aitken – but they quietly split earlier this year.
With his latest romance over, Mr Hodgman, a father of four, appeared to be on a career break following an incident in February in which he got into an altercation with two staff members at the Empire Lounge at Sydney Seaplanes Terminal.
Mr Hodgman was arrested on February 17 and charged with assaulting bartender Bipin Bhattarai and venue manager Michael-Ross Mendoza Bray.
He is due to face court in December on the charges.

Eastern suburbs marriage scam
Sydney socialite Ellie Aitken’s life is turned upside down in late 2021 when her husband Charlie Aitken, a high-profile investment banker, runs off with her best friend Holly Nasser – ending two marriages in the process.
The move caused a scandal in the East Suburbs, especially since Holly was not only Ellie’s best friend, but married to Charlie’s business partner, Christopher Nasser.
Despite the drama, the Aitkens tried to stay on good terms throughout the split for the sake of their two children.
In May 2021, Daily Mail Australia revealed that Holly and Charlie had quietly separated, the public pressure being too much for them to bear.

Mr Hodgman had the world at his feet: a young family, a comfortable life east of the city, and a well-paid executive position at Citibank – home of big bonuses.
But with his personal life hampered and his relationship ending, Mr Hodgman appears to have recently decided to part ways with the bank.
‘I can confirm James Hodgman has resigned,’ a Citibank employee told Daily Mail Australia.
He marked his departure from the company with farewell drinks at Paddington’s Four in Hand Hotel with his former colleagues.

‘To my friends at City, 13 amazing years, love you all, amazing memories thank you,’ she wrote on Instagram at the time.
Unemployment doesn’t seem to bother Hodgman, his Instagram profile shows him living the dream life on Waikiki Beach.
Mr Hodgman’s relationship with mother-of-two Ms Nasser comes almost 18 months after he split from ex-wife Nicole ‘Nicky’ Kreber, with whom he has four children.
The pair were the talk of Sydney’s eastern suburbs in the mid-2000s thanks to their good looks and seemingly limitless professional success.
Ms. Kreber previously worked at Kerry Packer’s publishing company ACP and now runs The Event Group, a fashion and lifestyle production company.
Mr Hodgman, who recently quit his job at Citibank, appears to be living a lovely beach life in Hawaii according to his Instagram account.
