John Goodman showed off his newly toned body while attending The Golden Nymphs event in Monte-Carlo on Tuesday.

The Emmy-winning actor looked dapper on the red carpet in a fitted black suit and bowtie.

The 70-year-old actor – who has lost an incredible 200 pounds over the years – was freshly shaved and had his short hair styled in a side part.

The comedian vowed to overhaul his lifestyle and lose weight in 2007.

And John Goodman proved he’ll stick to his plans as he showed off his much slimmer body in Monaco over the weekend and attended the 62nd Monte Carlo TV Festival, where he served as jury president.

The Roseanne star began her journey in 2007 when she quit drinking, but her trainer then took her to a new weight loss and fitness level.

According to her trainer, she introduced the star to a ‘Mediterranean-style eating plan’ that focuses on fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables and fruit.

John also exercises six days a week, taking 10,000 to 12,000 steps per day and using an elliptical and treadmill.

The actor has always been open about his love of food, telling People: ‘It takes a lot of creative energy to sit down with you and decide what you’re going to eat.’

In 2016, John told Howard Stern: ‘I took it slow. I just wanted to change my lifestyle. He explained that his new way of life is ‘an ongoing process for the rest of my life.’

The star revealed that she used to look in the mirror every day and think, ‘I have to deal with this for the rest of the day, I have to deal with this schmuck?’

The following year she told the ABC of her weight loss: ‘In the old days, I would take three months, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and go back to my old habits.

However, he decided that he would really be disciplined this time and do things differently.

Lifestyle overhaul: The comedian vowed to reevaluate his lifestyle and lose weight in 2007 and stuck to his plan, leaving his body much thinner.

Having fun: The comedian was spotted smiling on the red carpet alongside Italian actress, model, television personality and beauty pageant winner Francesca Chilemi

‘This time, I wanted to do it slowly. Come on, exercise. I’m getting to an age where I can’t afford to sit around anymore.’

As part of his lifestyle overhaul, the actor gave up alcohol and, in 2018, told AARP: ‘It was basically just portion control and I didn’t need it. I just had to shove everything in my mouth.’

Speaking about his alcohol addiction, John told Rolling Stone magazine: ‘All that anger was fueled by fear and drinking because it was fun.

‘But I was probably born drunk. But most of the anger has passed. If I don’t watch the news, I’m cool.’
