Ahead of Father’s Day, Robert De Niro discussed his children with PEOPLE at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Saturday.
The 79-year-old actor attended a screening of his 1993 movie A Bronx Tale and told the outlet that his six older children have yet to meet his 2-month-old daughter Gia Virginia.
He shares the newborn daughter with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, whom he has been involved with since summer 2021.
Asked if his children – Drena, 51, Rafael, 46, twins Julian and Aaron, 27, Elliott, 24 and Helen, 11 – had met the baby, De Niro said, ‘Not yet, but they will.’
And as for the upcoming holidays, the Goodfellas star says she’ll be ‘just spending it with the kids and all that.’

De Niro’s former co-star Chaz Palminteri gushed to the outlet: ‘Oh, I saw the baby. Beautiful baby.’
And his other former co-star Catherine Narducci noted that although she hasn’t met her new addition, De Niro is ‘an incredible father’ and ‘a wonderful person.’
‘I’ve seen him around his kids and I know his daughter Drena and they have a lovely relationship,’ she explained.
‘And I think he’s a great guy, you know, a great father, a great person – a great human being,’ the actress added.
This comes after the longtime entertainer shared a glimpse of her seventh child during an appearance on CBS Mornings in May.
Gia was welcomed by her parents on April 6 and weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces.
The actor’s first two children came from his marriage to Diane Abbott. He went to welcome the twins with girlfriend Tookie Smith.
Elliott and Helen share ex-wife Grace Hightower – the two married in 1997 and separated in 2018.

On the Today Show to promote the Tribeca Festival, she opened up about her newborn daughter and mentioned her close friend Al Pacino.
‘Listen, Al Pacino just had a baby, I was told yesterday morning, and he’s a few years older than me. God bless him, so happy for him,’ he said.
‘It feels great,’ says Robert of nursing a newborn again.
On how he has changed as a father, the star told Hoda Kotb, ‘I have some awareness – when you grow up you have awareness about certain things in life, dynamics, everything, family dynamics.’
The Goodfellas actor added, ‘You can’t avoid learning certain things and how you deal with them and manage them and this and that, that’s normal.
‘It’s surprising, but I’m very happy about it.’
Shortly after news of his new family addition broke, the actor told Page Six that welcoming his seventh child was ‘planned’ and questioned ‘How could you not have planned something like this?’

Robert both starred in and directed A Bronx Tale, which marks its 30th anniversary this year.
He opened up about it to Extra before the screening as he said, ‘I’m really looking forward to it, especially at the Beacon Theatre… the audience… can’t wait.’
Last month she attended the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Martin Scorsese’s crime drama Killer of the Flower Moon, in which she stars.
The film, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Brendan Fraser and Jesse Plemons, received a nine-minute standing ovation after the screening.
