A man stabbed a dog to death in Central Park on Saturday, following a heated dispute between its owner and another dog walker.
A 43-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were walking their two dogs, a pitbull-German shepherd mix and a Chihuahua, near 106th Street and East Drive around 8:30 p.m.
The suspect’s three dogs then began attacking the woman’s pit bull.
Dog fights quickly turn into disputes between owners.
As the woman tried to separate the dogs, the man pulled out a switchblade and began mercilessly stabbing Eli, the pitbull mix.

The critically injured dog was then taken to a local animal clinic, where it was euthanized Saturday evening, according to the New York Police Department.
After the brutal and brutal act, the suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving behind the dead dog and its devastated owners.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday, according to the New York Daily News.
Police are looking for the man responsible, who was said to be wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans and an orange hat. Investigation is ongoing.
This is not the first violent attack on dogs in New York this year.
Last August, a woman’s dog died after being attacked by a homeless man in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

His dog, Moose, later died from his injuries.
And in 2021, a dog named Bandit was stabbed in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn after the bandit approached the stabbing dog while it was off.
