Kevin Costner's wife is uncomfortable with leaving the $145 million home she refuses to vacate

Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, was seen Saturday, worried as she ran errands near her family’s home in Carpinteria, California.

Baumgartner, 49, has been seen driving around in his gray Range Rover, seen several times in the past week.

The mother-of-three and her soon-to-be A-list ex are locked in a fierce legal battle over his ongoing residence in their $145 million beachside mansion.

The Oscar-winning actor, 68, said that under the terms of their prenuptial agreement, Baumgartner had 30 days to move out of the home he owns after filing for divorce on May 1, Radar reported last week after reviewing legal documents from the case.

Costner said he had already paid Baumgartner $1.45 million under the terms of the prenup, providing enough funds for him to get a new place.

Baumgartner was seen leaving the California Bank of America’s Montecito branch last week amid reports of a divorce-related dispute.

He was pictured behind the wheel of a gray Range Rover on Wednesday as he drove from the bank to the premises in Carpinteria, California.

Baumgartner, who shares three children with Costner — sons Caden, 16, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 13 — was a passenger in the luxury car as they trekked through the well-heeled coastal community.

In the midst of a divorce and property dispute, the Yellowstone star told the court she would be able to make more financial arrangements for him to leave the house.

Costner stated in court documents that he is ‘able to contribute $30K per month towards a rental home as part of his child support obligation and is willing to advance another $10K for his moving expenses.’

Costner argues that under the terms of the prenup, she had thirty days to vacate the property after she filed for divorce.

He said in court documents that he is the sole owner of the three-family home; And in the pre-op they signed when they married in 2004, Baumgartner agreed to leave the house and take his property in the event of a divorce.

Costner has a vast real estate portfolio, highlighted by a 10-acre beachfront compound in Carpinteria, California, valued at an estimated $145 million.

The house is situated on a clifftop and boasts sea views. Costner originally designed a dream home with a pool and guest house.

Due to family commitments and spending time at his Aspen home, he never got around to rebuilding the site.

The compound has 500 feet of private beach, surrounded by cliffs, and the actor has built an apparent recreation room on the property, surrounded by outdoor furniture and umbrellas.

Originally, the parcel of land came with a polo practice field that baseball enthusiast Costner converted into a baseball field. The home also boasts views of the Santa Barbara Mountains, several islands, and its own horseback riding trail.

Costner already owned a beach house in Carpinteria, buying a 17-acre parcel of land with a two-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch in 2006 for $28.5 million. Costner noticed the house when he saw a for sale sign while jogging.

In 2007, the JFK star sold seven acres of land to a neighbor, but combined his homes to create an unrestricted estate.

Costner commented on how he mortgaged a portion of his property in a recent interview with Deadline to raise funds for his upcoming film franchise Horizon.

‘I mortgaged 10 acres on the water in Santa Barbara where I was going to build my last house,’ Costner said. ‘But I did without thinking. It drove my accountant. But this is my life, and I believe in ideas and stories.’

Costner owns a ranch in Aspen, Colorado that spans 160 acres and includes a pair of lakes. The property consists of three separate houses with a total of eight bathrooms and 12 bedrooms, with capacity for 34 guests.

In late January, Costner made the property, known as the Dunbar Ranch, available for rent for $36,000 a night.

Baumgartner filed for divorce from The Bodyguard actor on May 1.

Their relationship began in 1998 and they exchanged vows in 2004 at his ranch in Colorado.

After the split was announced, Costner’s representative, Arnold Robinson, said in a statement: ‘It is with great regret that circumstances beyond his control have resulted in Mr. Costner participating in the divorce.’

Costner was ‘not shocked’ after learning of the divorce filing, sources told PEOPLE last month, but the news came as ‘an unpleasant surprise.’ The source added, ‘He didn’t want it. Although he knew that Christine was unhappy.’

Costner also has a large real estate portfolio, highlighted by a 10-acre beachfront compound in Carpinteria, California, worth an estimated $145 million.

Costner’s busy work schedule took a toll on the relationship, the source added, as he wanted ‘them to spend family time at their Santa Barbara home,’ but he’s ‘not around much’ when he’s filming.

The insider said: ‘His absence has been very difficult for him. Christine doesn’t want him to throw himself into another project. He has been busy filming Digant since last year. He was not happy about it.’

The veteran actor is father to daughters Annie, 39, and Lily, 36, and son Joe, 35, with ex-wife Cindy Silva; and son Liam, 27, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney.
