Royal fans think Sophie gave Princess Charlotte a message – but others aren’t convinced

Royal watchers online are questioning whether the Duchess of Edinburgh asked Princess Charlotte to ‘sit down’ during the Trooping the Color celebrations today.

The video, which shows the two royals watching the parade, is just a few seconds long.

It shows Charlotte and Sophie watching from a building, after the Horse Guards arrive at the parade.

The clip follows the children of Wales traveling in the parade in a carriage with Queen Camilla and their mother the Princess of Wales.

However, neither of these two senior royals are in the clip, nor are Charlotte’s brothers Prince George or Prince Louis.

The video, which lasts just a few seconds, shows Sophie and Charlotte watching the parade from a balcony

The clip shows the young royal asking the Duchess a question. The reaction led many to believe that he was stopped from speaking

During the video, Charlotte is seen leaning over and talking to Sophie, though it’s unclear what she said.

It seems the little royal asks something and then the Duchess answers.

When Sophie responded, many people believed she was telling the little royal to sit down.

However, others believe that the clip only shows the warm connection between the family members.

Twitter users were divided on whether Sophie asked the young royal to sit down or whether they enjoyed a more friendly exchange

Taking to Twitter, one royal watcher wrote: ‘You can tell they are spending time together as a family. Charlotte feels completely at ease with Sophie.’

Another agreed, adding: ‘Looks like the Duchess of Edinburgh has a pretty close relationship with good looking babies.’

And a third meant to exchange between the royals: ‘Love.’

However, many other Twitter users felt that the older royal snubbed the younger one.

One tweeter said: ‘Well he’s being asked to sit down very sharply.’

Another agreed, writing: ‘Is Sophie telling Charlotte to sit down?’

According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, who spoke to the Daily Star, Sophie didn’t ask the little royal to sit down.

In fact, she says, Charlotte asked her aunt: ‘How long will Sophie be?’

And then Sophie replied: ‘I think it is now.’

Today marks the first Trooping the Color since the death of Queen Elizabeth II last September – and the opening parade for King Charles’ birthday.
